What's your New Year's resolution?

A new year often gives us an opportunity to reflect and commit to making a few minor adjustments (or major changes) to how we approach life. It's a time when we can start fresh, refueled and inspired. Do you plan to dedicate more time to creative pursuits or search for more opportunities to be inspired? Are you seeking more balance in your life? As the year draws to a close, we hope you'll share your resolution with fellow members.

Share your thoughts and help shape the dialogue in a meaningful way. Your contribution makes all the difference in building a stronger Design is Love community. Remember, participation is caring.

Our Design Is Love resolution is to continue our diligence in expanding this wonderful community. We plan to increase the amount of members, elevate the quantity and quality of communications and begin to promote the soulful projects our members are working on together. Self-reflection is a beautiful thing and we're heading into the new year with confidence in the idea that this movement is beginning to represent a rich experience worth sharing.

ok, so for the past couple of inwords topics I have over-thought and over-plotted my responses so much that I missed my opportunity to post. That may seem irrelevant but it's not.

The-thing-I-want-to-do-more-of (I don't like the term "resolution", feels deathly) in 2011, and for the rest of my life, is simple. I want to be more spontaneous. Ok, one more thing: I want to enjoy life more. Every moment. Not get super busy, worried, sad, or guilty (I do that a lot). Many people close to me are getting sick, two of my grapndparents died this year (yeah, 2010 can suck it). All of this makes me think that I need to cherish every moment and enjoy the wonderful healthy life I have the privilege to lead.

Yeah, that's a cliche. I don't care. It's true and truth will never get old.

Home / Work / Everywhere. In 2011 I will ask "is this effective?" of every single little thing I do. I get the sense that I will do less but get more done. Happy New Year everyone.

Very recently I discovered the existence of the Infinite within me. I closed my eyes and looked inside and saw this huge burning sphere, much like the Sun of this solar system.

The thing was, this sphere was in black and white. It was mildly burning, but in grayscale. Kinda like if the moon was on fire.

I am resolved to breath life into that sphere. Give it color and get it burning so I can light my way through the Infinite. If that doesn't happen, nothing really ever will.

This is going to be a big year for me . . . filled with changes and opportunities. Much learning and planning needs to be done. As I make my way through the months of 2011, I want to write about the events, people, insights, and inspirations I encounter. To this end, I resolve to write 1000 words a day and read 15 hours a week.

To always continue to be madly curious about everything.

I've never been big on resolutions as in years past New Years never represented much more than a reminder that another year was behind us. 2010 marked a milestone in my life. My daughter Sophia Grace was born in early December 2009 so last year was our first full year of parenting. As most new parents would attest to, it was a complete adjustment and while reflecting on the year I could probably be best defined as "an organizational disaster".

My resolution(s) going into 2011: Be more organized : Only take on what I can handle without sacrificing time with my family and commitments I have already made : Create more personal work. : Be most efficient. : Tell my wife how much she means to me more often : Kiss my baby every night before she goes to bed (which means less late meetings) : Dedicate every spare moment I have to growing the Design is Love movement and making this site even better.
